It won't do any harm but it may not solve the problem he posted with , dimming lights. By upgrading the big three this will more than likely correct that problem. If just to add the ho alt. to the equation without upgrading the wiring may not have any affect at all. That is why the starting point should be to make sure the the big 3 are upgraded prior to installing an ho alt.

i 4got to mention that i already have an 0/1 guage wires running thru my car but i still have stock battery and alt. but i was gona get an HO alternator so when i upgrade. Also my amp sucks up 150a if that can help

well i'm kinda a noob, but n e ways the local radio shop says my amp is power hungary and it originally call with 150 amp fuses (inline) and i think in the amp alsoi knkow that when crank it up, my transmission lags, lights dim, and rpm drop

I believe that amp is capable of pulling 150 amps, just not always, only during certain musical peaks. big 3, then an alternator.

However a lagging transmission is some thing I have nevert heard of! That's mighty bizarre.
