I have a vibe 430 1000 watt 4channel amp and whenever I crank up the bass, the amp cuts out and the protection light comes on until I turn off the amp and then back on. I have had 2 pioneer 10" subs, 2 pioneer 15" subs and I currently have 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" subs. All these subwoofers were 4 ohm and bridged, so the amp sees 2 ohms. I have an optima yellow top battery and a 1 farad cap  If you know what is wrong with it please let me know. Everything is wired correctly, I have 4 awg power and ground wire, which is grounded good, and 4 or 5 volt form my Alpine head unit RCA's, also did this with my old pionner premier deck.

Thanks,

Morgan

Are you running a total of 6 subs in your system, 4 10's and 2 15's off that single amp?

And how do you have the subs wired?.....Are the 10's wired to one channel and the 15's to another?....Are the subs single or dual voic coil?

live & die 4 tha luv of BASS!!!!

Amp won't handle a 2 ohm mono load.. you need to get some 8 ohm subs..

or:

since it's a four channel, bridge the front channels on one sub and the rear channels on the other sub.. need to run it 4 ohm mono, not two ohm mono..

when you seen 2 ohm stable on the amps, that does not mean that they are 2 ohm MONO stable.. it means 2 ohm stereo stable.. which is the same as 4 ohm mono..

Another case of a manufacture trying to get a consumer to believe that they have the best amp... ooooohhhh... 2 ohm stable.. I have only seen TWO amps that were really bullet proof 2 ohm stable mono.. the jl 500/1 and the newer alpine MRD-F500 (think thats the model anyway)

No, I only have the 2 fosgate 10s now. I already have these new subs , is there any other way to wire them so that it will still hit hard and not go into protection mode?

If my calculations are right there should be a 4 ohm mono load present, not 2 ohm mono. So why would it go into protection mode?

Maby its too much on your alternator?  Most amps cut off when the voltage goes below a certain number (i forgot what number that is) and it will also cut off if it goes above a certain voltage number.
