well 6 W1 (depending on what size you are getting) are going to move a lot more air than 2 13" subs. Id definitely stick with the JLs. The type Xs arent all they are cracked up to be.

Friend of mine has a couple type x's on a couple mrd 1005's...its pretty loud but the type x's start to burn the coil when reaching their 1000 watt rms power handling limit.
But their sound quality is amazing though

what kind of vehicle are you working with. if your just looking for loud as can be....with quality....(hmmm) i would go with the 13w1v2 in a ported enclosure and as many as you can. everytime we do that setup in any vehicle were always amazed at the output vs. dollar amount. and in spl its ALMOST always easier to get higher numbers with higher quantity of woofers, depending on vehicle.

Both subs in the right box will be good but I think i would go with the JL.... *ponders* I dunno who that is but not very creative about the name w6 or type x? - Last Post -- posted image.

Loudest subs you can get = proven performers in the proper box. Look to the DD3500 series of subs for starters. They sound good and get beyond stupid loud in the proper slot port box.

ok so the next question is do i go with 6 13w1v2's or the 2 13 w6v2's?  the subs are going to be going into a back of a 95 blazer and i plan on taking up all the room there is back there anyway. so whats gonna be louder? the w6s in a good box or 6 w1's in a fiberglass box?
