oh, okay then lets start over. It can not be the problem i just said. It has to be the starter kill. a couple of things......first, you have to make sure that the system is unlocked/disarmed in order to start the car. 2nd what is the org wire (smaller gauge one) going to? it should go to nothing. last how do you have the green and purple wires hooked up to? purple starter side green key side? i bet you just have to unlock first then try and start with key

Hello, I know I have the purple and green wire right, but I have the ornage wire going directly to ground. Do I need to unhook that?

What does ground when armed really mean?  I wire airplanes for a living but I am new to car wireing, its very different.

it just means that the wire will put otu a ground when you arm the alarm. So when you press lock on the transmitter it will throw out a ground.
What you did was throw ground to that wire which tricked the alarm to think it was locked, engaging the starter kill and preventing the car to start
