Issues with Deck swap in '07 Caliber

So yea.... I went out and got a sub, amp, speakers and a deck. ( I have a Caliber STX with std Audio)

The main problem I am having is with the faceplate (bracket) to go from the huge deck (stock) to my new deck. In most cars a simple bracket would work, but in the caliber the volume and tuning knobs bulge out of the unit and have bevels in the dash...Why dodge would do this I dont know....m0r0ns. This complicates things as there will be holes in the dash if I use a regular bracket.

Has anyone here swapped decks in the caliber?? If so, can you recommend a place to get a good bracket for mine?

ummmm....you know retail on that deck is 269.99 and that is for the Pioneer Premier one, with the 2 year warrenty from Pioneer. But yea that dashkit should work forya.

I got the deck on sale for 254.99....thats the only reason I got it. I would never spend 320 on a deck. And yea when i saw the reply in this thread i went to bestbuy and told the guy and got a '04 durango mount....which works perfectly.

So I spent a good 4-5hrs on my car yesterday running lines and mounting the amp/deck/speakers while the caliber was in pieces. A little intimidating...but everything went back together cleanly. However, the closest wiring harness i could find was for a dodge durango '04...which has a few problems. 1....right now I don't have access to an ignition lead from the car...so uness i turn off the radio/remove the faceplate...it never turns off. 2....rear speaker pins on the stock connector don't line up with the ones on the mount. I am going to see if i can remove and re-place th pins to manuallt align them up.

The thing with the ignition wire is a bigger problem though. I searched all around for a wiring guide and the only 2 I found were from this forum (see below) and another place which i couldn't understand.

Can anyone tell me what CAN data bus means?? I need to find that wire for Radio Ignition!!!!!! It's driving me nuts

you need this module from peripheral electronics CHYAH05, it is the 05 to present chrysler CAN-BUS module

there is a three digit with letter code on the front of the factory radio, this module can only be used on certain ones

it retails for about 149.99

Thanks...but i'm probably just going to run a lead off the 12volt cigarette jack. It will take me 2 min to do it.

My next thing is to see if I can use the IP-Bus aux-in on the back of my deck and run a line to the console where my mp3 player will sit. I'm an iRiver man....not an iPod man.. so the iPod deck addon won't help me.

I must say that now that I have ripped apart my car and know how easy it is to remove stuff....I can do anything in it now....YESSSSS
