I have installed a Clifford Matrix 3.5 w/ a 556u bypass unit on my 2006 Tacoma. The problem I am having is with the remote start. If I try and remote start the way it is, the engine will crank, but will never turn over. If I put the key in the ignition (not turning it), the remote start works perfect. This leads me to believe that my 556u is not hooked up right.
I have +12v going to the red wire, Ground to the black wire, Green wire going to the GREEN/ Black Keysense wire under the steering column. The antenna loop is placed around the ignition key. I have tried chaning the jumber from 60 to 18 with no luck. I tried hooking up the pink wire to ignition power and I made sure that the blue wire is getting a - signal from the remote unit. What else is there?

UH what did you hook the blu/black wire up to, this triggers the bypass on? And don't hook up the pink wire.

you dont need to hook up keysense on a Toyota, but you do need to connect the blue status input to the blue status wire from the 3.5......

this will turn the module on when you activate R/S.....

Yes, that is done already. The blue - status output wire coming from the remote satellite box is connected to the blue - status input of the 556u.

The relay inside the 556u is working fine. I tested all the wired inside the unit and everything is working accordingly. Is there a way test if the key is sending a signal through the antenna loop?

How should the antenna loop be mounted around the ignition slot?

Try playing with the position of the loop around the ignition... Sometimes they are very sensitive....

I've been doing that all afternoon and no luck. I'll remote start the truck and as it's trying to crank, I will put the key up to the ignition and the truck will start. That concludes that the 556u is either not sending the signal to the loop or that the signal is too weak for the ignition to see.
