I searched this forum, found and read all threads/posts on Sirius antennas but to no avail.
Short version:
I am looking for a source that sells (retail) a roof mount Sirius antenna - drill-a-hole type (vehicle OEM type). White in color or with a paintable radome. Ideas on sources from your experiences?
Long version:
I am using the little mag mount antenna that came with my SIR-ALP1 receiver. It's mounted at the front-edge of the windshield with the wire running through the door weather stripping, then down the A-pillar.
The car is white and I don't care for the black square antenna and short visible black antenna wire, not to mention the antenna wire reveal with the door open.
Considering moving the antenna to farther back to the read edge of the roof where the roof meets the rear window seal. Assuming I could hide the wire in the rear window seal then into the trunk, I'd still see a bit of the wire externally and I am not sure the wire length would reach the dash (tuner location).
Thanks,
Jim

try running the antenna inside on the dash as close to the winshield as possible with the wire completely hidden. i usually run all antennas on the roof but i have ran two antennas like this in porsche's with success. you really dont want to get into drilling holes into your roof. as far as finding an antenna in white, good luck, try painting it with a non metallic based spray paint.
