got beat up by a pac tr7 today

i tried interfacing the tr7 video bypass for the alpine iva-d900 yesterday, no luck. researched at night found an update bulletin, got a 2k ohm resistor and wired it up, still no luck. i ended up wiring it up to the foot brake and a toggle, it works well enough. my point tonight is about pac products. they are pretty technical and ive been whooped by them a few times already(steering wheel interface, tr7, etc.). anyone else?owner of
