Hey guys.. ive done a few sterio installs for buddies and stuff but all of which weve thrown in a new deck and then rca's to the amp.. any idea on how to install an amp into a stock 2002 dodge dakota sport deck (with CD player).. i know how to wire an amp but i wud just like to findout how i can take the output to the amps input..
ALSO: i plan on leaving his original speakers the way they are and then just add a couple 6x9's (for now..eventually a sub prolly) in a box in the back..Would this work?

since im unable to edit ive done a bunch of searching and found out that if the stock deck dont have rca outputs (most likly not) then im gonna need a line out converter.. does anyone know where these can be bought it canada (Trenton/Belleville Area..Ontario)..
and if i do get one does anyone have the colour code on a 2002 dodge dakota sport.. and i wanna make sure there are no security features with this deck..
Thanks again!

Google "dodge stereo wire harness" for the pinout if you don't find it here.
And google line output converter or LOC for retailers, any stereo store will carry them.

Ok everybody.. looks like i have almost everything i need to get my buddies stuff done.. just got back from the store and him spending $500..
just a couple things to clarify tho:
1: Are there only 2 screws to remove dash panal (rite near the gauges)..then the rest just pops off.. or do i need to pop out the grillz for the air/heat and find more screws?
2: Can i leave the rears (original speakers) just connected threw the deck and run only the fronts (new infinities) threw the amp?
3: When connecting the wires from the deck to the LOC.. so i just splice into the original or do i cut the wires and then reconnect all the wires (should be 3) or should i just cut the wire from the harness and then just connect it to the LOC (so theres only 2 wires connected at each joint)
Thanks a lot!! I plan on doing this either tomarrow or saturday..
Thanks again!

2. yes, good idea.
3. splice into the harness, if it's a comman ground then be sure to re-connect for the rear speakers.

Just be sure the rears still have a ground (IE - a single pos & neg for each speaker), sometimes they all will connect to the same ground wire. I doubt they do on yours, just not sure.
