Yes, the GM-SL2 is supposed to turn on the heated seats and rear defroster if engine temp is below 32 degrees, but I would also like to be able to turn on the rear defroster using the remote.

I believe all crimestoppers are compatable with the GM-SL2.. I just did a Buick yesterday with the 1304 Crimestopper and the GM-sl2..Slick set up..

When you connected the 1304 to the GM-SL2 did you use the Data Link or hardwire?

I am planning to use Crimestopper RS 1905 FM remote start module which has DP technology according to their website, but Crimestopper's tech rep says it is not compatable with the GM-SL2 datalink and must be hardwired so now I am confused.

I believe it has to be the DP2 technology for the Datalink to work.. so you remote start would have RS-1905 DPII..

That is probably true, but on their website it doesn't show a RS 1905 DPII , only the FM but it says they all have DP technology.    I guess I'll ljust hardwire from the GM-SL2  to the remote, only 4 wires anyway.    Thanks for the info.

On the Crimestopper RS 1905 FM remote start, the "Diesel glow plug delay" wire has jumpers to select (-) or (+) signals.   If not using "wait to start"  should  this wire  be left disconnected or connected to ground or +12V?      The only programmable options for "Diesel glow plug delay" are for 10, 20, 30 seconds or monitor glow plug.    There is no option to "not monitor" the glow plug circuit.  I assume the remote start module looks for a transition from one state to another if the wire is connected, but if not connected and no delay is selected is this signal ignored?

I do not use that wire at all.. I just set the remote starter up to dely for 10 seconds i think. The Duramax is only like three seconds for the glowplugs.. I have done a ton of these with no problems with this delay set up.. I have never used the wait to start wire setup.. Hope that helps

Where is the tach wire physically located under the dash on a 2005 Silverado Duramax Diesel (easiest access) ?
