Figured out the cd player issue. It's how the front speakers are wired. The dash speakers are wired to the door speakers in parallel from the factory. The new radio probably can't handle the low ohms (not really low, but you know). I figured this out by fading the speakers all the way to the rear where there is just one speaker per channel, and it didn't cut out. So the leaves me a couple options.
  1. Fade all the way to rear when in competitions
  2. Unplug my two dash speakers when in competition, or wire them to a relay where I can switch them on and off.
  3. Rewire the speakers in a series connection instead of parallel.
I'm thinking of the last one, but I wanted to know is if this new higher ohm setup would make those speakers noticeably quieter? And if so, how much?

Also Jeff, what do you recommend for rms wattage for the two? 1500w at 1 ohm in a ported kicker spec box get me around 148-150db?

More then Likely I would reccomend something you can wire down for comp use only.     It all depends on what amps you decide on, The KX1200.1's will take a 1/2 ohm strapped for a burp...and you should get 3000+ watts out of a pair at 1/2 strapped
You are going to need to rebuild your box to get over 150!

I'll be getting a new box. The subs are the 4 ohms, not the 2, so I wont be getting a 1/2 ohm setup. The 1200.1 puts out 1200@1 (obviously you know that). But if I don't go name brand theres SPL (just bought by pioneer so quality should go up, not like it was terribly bad before) with their Z1X2400D which puts out 1800w rms at 1 ohm. My amp now is SPL and I don't see a problem with it. Also Hifonics Brutus BXi1606D puts out 1600w rms at 1 ohm and the cheaper BXi1206D does 1200w rms at 1 ohm. Another thing I was considering was maybe 2 low class high power amps, so even hen they aren't putting out what they say..their still putting out. Two soundstorm 2500 mono's put out 1500w rms at 2 ohms. So that would be like 1000w to each sub? Also, their only $110 a piece.
