Forgive me i am new at this wiring of relays...

2003 Jeep Cherokee Parking Lights

" The parking lights are negative trigger thru a 1300ohm resistor. There is a rest resistance on the wire, so MUST use a relay to isolate away from switch."

How do i go about wiring up a Bosch relay

30 - Ground

86 - Ground

85 - (+) parking light output from RS

87 - 1300ohm resistor inline to vehicles parking light wire

87a - Nothing..

Is this correct...

close...try this.

30 and 85 to ground

86 to positve light flash output of alarm brain

87 to parking light wire of vehicle with the resistor in series

87a...not used.

This is one way to do it.

Also one more question:

A customer brought me a DEI Ready Remote to install. I know these arent the best but thats what he wants...

Now it doesnt have a Ground Output While Running wire. However it does have a (ignition 3/VATS wire) Can i use this wire to run the bypass? Or any other alternatives?

Now it says to use this wire i MUST wire up a relay..

30 - Blue/White wire on 457c Input ground output

86 - COnstant 12v

87 - Constant 12v

85 - Ignition 3/VATS wire from RS

87a - Nothing...

This is the diagram used in the manual. Should i use a relay this way?

actually the way you had it would work fine with any standard relay but I am in the habit of using 86 for + and 85 for - in event of an internal diode, which is not common these days.

I don't know what a "DEI ready remote" is but that relay wiring makes no sense. What you have wired will do as follows...

When you turn the ignition swith off the relay coil (86 and 85) will remain energized due to the ign. wire becoming negative when it is off and will kill the battery overnight.

In addition once the relay coil is energized you will be sending constant 12volt positive to the negative "input ground output" (whatever the heck that is) of the 457c and there is no way that can be a good thing.

Better recheck that wiring and get back.

there's 1 small problem with the wiring of the parking light relay.  If you wire it as above the parking lights and the headlights will turn on and flash, becuase as it says there is rest resistance on the wire.  You need to cut the parking light wire and the switch side will go to 87a.  The other side to 30.  finally 87 goes to ground through the 1300 ohm resistor.  The ignition 3 wire is it blue/black?  If it is you can tie that right into the blue/white wire of the r/s.

Heres they way we have been doing it: Theres are relay box right above the fuse box, the parking light relay is in there and it has a negaitve trigger no relays no cutting, just send a ground pulse to 85 on it and your parking lights are done. we pull the relay and tie the wire around it, then solder were twisted so it doesn't come apart.  To find the parking light relay turn the parking lights on & off it clicks you'll hear or you can feel the relay actuating.

OK i think i got the parking lights taken care of. However, i am still stumped on how to wire up the bypass module.. I have a IGN3/VATS WHITE/ black wire that is a 400ma negative transistor output and MUST be setup to power a relay. Now since im not using it to run the IGN 3 can i hook it right up to the blue/white wire of the 457c without haveing to wire up a relay?

Heres what it says in the manual:

30 -To additional Ignition wire (in vehicle)

87 - 12v

86 - 12v

85 - WHITE/ Black wire from RS (IGN 3/VATS wire)

yes you can run that directly to the 457c.
