Just got done installing my remote start  and bypass module

Everything installed per instruction specs.

Starter will not activate without key in ignition.  Fuel pump, etc all work fine.  A few times the truck started and stayed running with the key in the iginiton, but now the truck will start and then shut off after 2 seconds.  I'm assuming something isn't right with the bypass.  Any ideas?

Did you get the ground while running connected to the bypass?

Yes, ground when running from remote starter module is connected to the bypass.  Basically, when I hit the button on the remore, the remote start will attempt to start but starter doesn't engage, everything else seems to work (fuel pump, etc.)  If key is in ignition starter will engage.  Should I get a factory Ford bypass?

Look up the truck on bypasskit.com and buy the pats bypass.. XK04 should work. Thats your problem, if the rs will work with the key in the IGN then its the PATS system. what bypass do you have now?

Try taking the GWR wire and grounding it directly, see what happens. Also make sure you have 12 volts to the bypass from the ign. or the battery not from the accessory wire.

I tried repositioning the wire loop around the iginiton.  The remote start will now start my truck, but it will only stay running for 1-2 secs and then shuts off.  Do I just need to keep fooling with the bypass wire?

Hymer - I do like the XK04 since I don't need to store an extra key to use it.  Can anyone order though that site or do you have to be a "dealer"

Were did you get your tach lead, it sounds as if the remote start is not seeing that its running.

Anyone can order the XK04 from www.12voltshop.com, check for your tach signal or is it set for tachless?

Tach, yellow/white @ the coil OR Tan/Yell at PCM pin 48 or behind the cluster.
