OK I have been reading alot of posts about what brand is better. I would like to get everyone's opinion on Powerbass and American Bass. I currently have 2 entry level 12's from Powerbass (the s-12) and I am quite impressed by their performance. I also have an American Bass SQ540 Amp that is a champ!

You should really look into another amp, you are severely underpowering those woofers. Your amp is rated at 200wrms and you are probably only seeing around 180 true watts. Which means you are giving 90wrms to each 300wrms speaker. They will run fine as long as your gains are set correctly, but if you want to get the full potential out of those speakers I would look into a single channel amplifier that puts out around 600wrms @ 1-ohm...You will definately be happy you did...

I did that I have a Kenwood KAC 9152D now but IMO the American Bass is a much better quality. My Kenwood is "supposedly" putting out 900 RMS but it turns off every twenty minutes. With the American Bass amp I could turn everything up and leave it thereand that amp would pound away...

I sell powerbass, been impressed so far. Very tough durable equipment and pricing is good. I have not done any of there component sets yet.  Are your 12's dvc's? If so look into using a 600.2, this is our most popular combo.

Honestly, those Kenwood mono blocks are little monsters. Ive had about 5 of them and never had a problem with any of them. The 9152's do get a little warm running at 1ohm, but they DO put out there rated power. I've benched both the 9102 and the 9152...you cant beat those amps for the price...

Then I think there is something wrong with mine. If the amp gets worked at all it quits every time.
