I connected the entire CS-2011RS and I also used a GM-SL2.  The only thing with the GM-SL2 was that I was not able to use the data-link.  The data-link on the CS-2011RS was a different pigtail. So I wired it w/o the data-link option.

At this point I was unsure if The GM-SL2 would operate as a bypass or just a door module. So I then powered the entire system. Everything worked except for the remote start. I tried to start it but it didn't trigger the starter.

So then I wired in a bypass for Passlock 2. It is an Audiovox ASPASSIII. I found the resistance and dialed it in.

With everything powered and programed I then powered the CS-2011RS. As soon as it got power my siren went off at a low volume. I cut the power and them relocated the siren wire away from power wires thinking it was picking up power. But no change

What could cause this? I want to pull the bypass and get back to where I was before the bypass, but don't want to harm the system.  Any ideas

Also I did not wire up an IGN #3 for the Audiovox bypass. It says to IGN #3 or o constant neg ground output when remote starter is activated. I wired to the (-) ignition out or remote AUX output on the CS-2011RS.

CS-2011RS states the following: "this  wire functions as a neg ignition output (ground while remote starting) for use when connecting factory security bypass or when an external ignition relay is required."

the gm-sl2 will take care of everything on that car. Pull the. aspass111 and start over. As for the siren going off at a low volume, I've only seen that when there is no ground or a bad ground.

It will act as a bypass even if it is not wired using the data-link?

Yeah, the data port just saves you from having to hook up a few extra wires.

Ok I had to crossed wires, ign & ign #2.

When remote start is activated, fuel pump will now run but starter will not turn engine. Also I now get a engine dummy light when trying to remote start.

Correction

Ok, update......."neg to ground while remote starting wire " from GM-SL-2 was not connected to the "neg ignition out" on the CS-2001RS.

It now works like a dream!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all that replied, your help was great.

One last question............as far a mounting everythig I have done that but not happy with all the wire bundles. Is it typical to cut the length of the wires down so there less? I think I may go back and do this, at least to the unused wires.

Also how accessible should the GM-SL2 module be, in the event I disconnet my battery I will have to reprogram it?
