I am wondering if anybody has tried laying down 1 or 2 layers of carbon fiber on the final layer of a FG box for a carbon look?

It has been done.   You'll need to let your other glass dry first. Get some epoxy resin the clear stuff to use on the carbon fiber though so it doesnt look brown. Its pretty tedious cause its hard to make the carbon fiber look right. Since carbon fiber is usually vacuum bagged. It can be done though.
Learning the trade one fiberglass creation at a time!
