2004 corolla le alarm

Hello, I was just wondering for a couple quick tips for install on a 2004 Corolla LE. Is there an easy way to remove the panel that is covering up all of the wires below the steering column, or so I just have to reach up and around from near the pedals? Also, does anyone have any pics for this install, just as a reference guide? Thanks

There are 3 screws on the column shroud, two facing the wheel and 1 underneath.Mike M2

Yeah, what the other guys said. I've done a lot of those cars. The dash doesn't come off, but it's still not a hard car. Rock the steering wheel left to right, and remove the two black screws you see. Remove the one metal screw you'll see if you look UNDER the steering wheel. The column cover will just snap off, but Toyota plastic scratches and gouges too easily. Turn the steering wheel to one side, hook some sort of hook tool or screwdriver into the gaps in the plastic there, and pull down. This way, if you do gouge the plastic, no one will see it. Don't reinstall the column cover until the very last. If you leave it off during the whole installation, you'll let more light in behind the dash, and you can also reach your left arm through there if need be.
