I have looked around and I have not found any carbon fiber enclosures. I am just curious if there is a reason for this other than cost.

Cost is a huge issue, thats why when I make one, I do all fiberglass and just carbon fiber the top layer. It is VERY difficult to keep woven while working with it, aside from that not much different from fiberglass.

Nope. CF is a woven mat, not a solid sheet. it works just like fiberglass cloth, the only difference is that you use a special resin for it instead of your traditional resins. The resin for CF dries and cures near perfectly clear (depending on quality and install) so you can still see it when it is done. of course you can use regular resin, but why use CF if you can't see it? ^-^;

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.

The resin difference goes a bit further than just being clear. It is an epoxy resin it is clear, but it is also UV resistant so it will not yellow like polyester resin will from the sun. The epoxy resin is also more resistant to cracking.
