From everything I ever heard as well...doubling of power = 3db gain...doubling the # of subs = 3db gain. This is on "paper" keep in mind..many other factors can effect output as well.

Another tidbid....10db gain = twice as loud.....so you can see as the number of subs and amount of power go up..it gets exponentially more difficult to achieve gains.

A reason to respect SPL winners...it wasn't luck if they are consistantly winning.

yes

I was just hinting that you cant expect a 3db gain

if you cut your amp power in half

understandable...but you weren't really hinting...you outright said in general a 3db gain is had with adding one woofer...sorry if I sound offensive but think before typing...one shouldn't go spreading false information.

Ok thanks for all of your suggestion i am thinking about lowing the number to six subs and i was definitly doing two sub amps  cause i dont just wanna be satisfied,  when i want to i like to have power when i wanna hear it every now and again but every day nice low bass effect.

You're getting warmer..however you still won't be utilizing the most power if you stick with the DVC4's and the pair of 2ohm stable amps.

If you use series/parallel/parallel you have a final load of 2.66 ohms....you want a minimum of 4ohms to bridge those amps or expect overheating. (remember the 2ohm rating is stereo...not bridged mono)

If you use parallel/series/parallel you will be at 6ohms ..this would work safely but if you are really looking for the most output from those amps you should be at 4ohm final load per bridged amp.
