Im trying to install the Python 1500 ESPsystem into a vehicle with a Viper 5000 already installed in it. Using channel 3 to operate the remote starter from the Python. Im trying to use the Python as a stand alone remote starter, however Im having trouble with the programming of the Viper.

Whenever I press the buttons to operate channel 3, the car starts but then suddenly dies a couple seconds later. So I go into shutdown diagnostics from the Python system and it says giving me 4 blinks from the LED light meaning: Transmitter shutton (Or optional pushbutton).

I have a feeling I dont have the settings correct on the Viper system. By any chance does anyone know what menu 3 option 5 should be? Thanks in advance.

Yep, and yep.

I strongly feel like it has to do with the settings from the Viper. Oh, so sorry I mentioned that it was the 5000 model, but its actually the 3000 model. I just need to know what setting menu 3 option 5 should be at.

Last night I actually tried all the settings on the Viper, and the remote start still shutdown after starting. Checked diagnostics on the r/s and it blinked 4 times. So I tested the ch.3 output wire on the Viper, and it was throwing a non-stop ground whenever ch.3 was activated. Is there anything I should change with menu 3 option 6? Oh and the r/s is already programmed to 1 activation input.

Its a 2001 Galant. It has nothing to do with the bypass but if you must know its the 555U.

Or was it the 556U. Its one of those I cant remember off the top of my head, but the problem Im having has nothing to do with the bypass because when I touch the activation input wire from the r/s, the vehicle starts up with no problem. Its when the Viper is being used to activate the r/s, Im having problems with.
