Does anyone have a diagram for a 2007 VW Jetta for a remote starter?

Thanks,

Chris

The parking lights: At the switch find a RED / white. cut it, take the switch side to pin 87a, take the other end to pin 30.  Take and connect pin 87 to the blk/wht at the switch. 85 to ground, 86 gets the 12v parking light trigger from your unit.

As well, you do not need to remove the AIRBAG/security box as stated in the wire diagram. THis is just more work and needless removal of the module. You can access the ignition wires in the loom of wires that are coming out of the back of the black module attached to the steering column.

Thanks for the post. I have everything working except for the locks. I can get the lock to work but when I used a 240 ohm resistor, it doesn't work the unlock. I have checked the value and tried other values close to it but still nothing. Has anyone ever got this to work? I used the BROWN / green wire.

Thanks,

Chris

I believe the resistor needed is 160 ohm, not 240

With just about 200 remote starters completed, this is the most difficult I have ever completed! Even at that, it doesn't work like everything should. I still can't get the door locks to work with the remote starter remote, when the parking lights come on with the remote starter all of the lights come on. This is the first VW I have done and what a pain in the A@$ it was to remove the dashboard! I didn't even attempt to remove the cover around the steering column...VW has two torx screws right behind the steering wheel that is almost impossible to get to. If I have a customer bring a 2007 VW Jetta I will refuse it! I decided to use the factory remote to start the car (I like the key and remote combo) but when you start the car, the factory remote won't work to unlock/lock the doors! So, if you remote start the car and the doors are locked, you cannot unlock them with the remote! What a mess this was.....I'll have to set aside a whole day to get it right because I don't like the way it is. Ok, I'm done blowing off steam but really.....what a pain. Has anyone else done a 2007 VW Jetta? If so, I'd like to know.

Thanks,

Chris

Use a CANSL2 bypass module for the bypass and interface for doors, keyless, tach & trunk and this will make the whole job WAY easier. Took me about 4 hours to do this vehicle the first time and no real snags.

Yes, I will certainly get that module. Most of the time I elect not to use them because the cost is so high but I think this would be an exception. One question though, I am seeing conflicting information. Does the CAN-SL2 or SL2i work the parking lights?

Thanks,

Chris

I tried the parking lights and they work with the exception that it turns on all of the lights (head lights). The CAN-SL2 says that you need a key for the remote starter to work. Is there a module that will lock/unlock the doors, working the parking lights, activate the trunk and bypass the immobilzer? If so, I would buy it right now! Anyone know of a module?
