The CANSL2 will do all of what you want except the parking lights. You need to isolate the left from the right side and use two relays triggered byt the (+) parking light output.

Thanks for the reply. I did that and they work but the problem is that it actually turns on the head lights. I cut the red and white wire then ran it to the BLACK/ white or WHITE/ black....can't remember which one. Have you done this successfully where it just turns on the parking lights? My car doesn't even have the option to turn on the parking lights....it's either nothing or everything. Maybe go into the channel beside the driver and find the parking light wire?

I have just talked to Wayne at bypasskit.com and he said, "The doorlock interface for the Jetta will be a data solution, You will not
have to give up a key, this module will arm and disarm the factory alarm system, lock and unlock the doors, and have light confirmation." It looks like this is the module needed for a 2007 VW Jetta!

The CANSL2 you do not need to give up a key, but you do need a single key to program the module. If you spoke to Wayne then you need the XK510 but this requires you to give up the valet key to the module and have it hidden under the dash.

I down loaded the installation manual for the CAN-SL2 and it doesn't say that it will bypass the transponder. I know you have stated that it does but can you confirm this? I'd rather go with the CAN-SL2 and worry about the parking light problem later on. Also, do you know if I use a DP style remote starter from Crimestopper......will I still have to wire each individual output? I have never used the DP port on the RS-1604 but if I am able to, this would be the one to do it.

Thanks,

Chris

Just incase more people will be doing a 2007 Jetta, some of the information provided is incorrect.

Parking lights - No need for the special wiring. Just go to the drivers kick panel and supply +12V to the gray/black 22 gauge wire. I tried it the way the wiring sheet says and it will turn on the head lights and the parking lights.

Door locks - Straight ground will lock the doors but using a 240 ohm resistor for the unlock will not work. I used the BROWN / green wire and used a 1K for the unlock pulse and everything works as it should.

Now, can someone help me with this? When I remote start, as many cars do nowadays, my daytime running lights come on. I would like to permanently disable them. I know I can pull the hand brake at night and they will not turn on during the day but I don't like them period.

Thanks,

Chris

Find the hand brake relay in the relay fuse panel and you will find the hand brake wire. All you need to do is trigger this relay pin with a (-) pulse during remote start and this will not allow the day time running lights to operate during remote start. If you want to disable the DRL relay, I beleive it's a dual relay high up above the driver's kick panel and it's a PINK colored relay bank. Remove this and this will eliminate the DRL all together, but not sure if this will affect other parts of the lighting system if removed.

Thanks for the reply. I need to make a correction to my correction. The gray/black wire I mentioned only does one side of the vehicle. Any reason for this? I will find the wire for the other side but I don't know why VW isolated both sides?

One more question about the Jetta. While I was installing the remote starter, I created an airbag code and now the airbag light is on continuosly. I tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours but that didn't work. Is there any way to reset the airbag light without the use of a diagnostic tool? If so, how can I do this? If not, can someone suggest a cheap tool to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Chris
