what do i do? ive installed a few cd players but this truck caught me off guard. picked it up last week and got it home with no radio in it, just a big hole in the dash. got to looking for a harness but couldnt find one, tore a part the dash, still nothing. Ive got my speaker wire, ground, constant power wires ran but what do i do with the wire that is supposed to connect to the ignition. I tried to conect it to the batt. with a switch but keep pooping the fuse. What to do?, What to do?
Any help please.

You have the right idea. The fuse keeps popping either b/c it's way too small or the wire you ran is shorting out somewhere... What size wire did you use?

...Also, what size fuse did you use? Head units usually have a 10a fuse in the back, sometimes 15 (offbrands, Jensens do) so if your HU has a 10a fuse in the back then use a 15a fuse in the power wire. If your HU has a 15a, use a 20a.

wats going on. you do have the right idea. but just make your life easy get the same guage wire as the speaker wire, go to the ignition harness test for accessary with your meter and tap into that wire and connect it to the red wire on the radio harness which is switched 12 volts. This way u dont have to fuse any other wires exept constant. It is safer then going to the fuse box and risking shorting something else out.
