is there a way to remove the led from the pod?

Ok,playing with leads me to believe that you cannot separate the 2 without breaking something..So it's going to be visible: period..So can i just install a switch that allows the valet to be switched off and just hide the switch? If so,what kind of switch? Thanks in advance..

P.S. I searched everywhere and couldnt find any info.
