Hey, I have an Eclipse DA7232 amplifier which suddenly stopped working and I don't know why. I wasn't playing it high volume so it wasn't clipping. The power light on the amplifier still lights up when I turn on the head unit, meaning the remote turn-on and power/ground connections should be fine. Also, the RCA signal cable that carries the subwoofer signal, which normally goes into this amplifier, still carries the signal because when I swap it into my other amplifier (for door speakers) the subwoofer plays. Basically, it seems that every connection seems to be fine, and the power light to the unit comes on as normal, it just no longer sends out voltage all of a sudden.
Any idea what could be wrong or how to find out what's wrong? This is an expensive amplifier and I would like to be as sure possible about what the problem is before deciding what to do next as far as replacing it.
Thanks in advance
Ray

You can't always count on the power light of an amp assure power and remote.
Get a volt meter and check for power and remote.

Have it repaired. Mine did the same thing, about a year after I bought it. Eclipse said there was a manufacturing defect in the first generation of that particular amplifier, and they tried to weed the defective ones out before they were sold. Most were caught, but some (like yours and mine) were not. VERY worth repairing, IMO, (there's nothing quite like it today, if you ask me...) and Eclipse is a good company to deal with... they MAY (if it is the same issue as mine was) cover it under warranty, as a known defect.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

How/where did you get yours repaired? Do you mean take it to a local audio equipment repair shop, or do you mean mail it to some Eclipse repair facility?

I returned to my local Eclipse dealer, and they sent it in for the repair.
