i installed a python 460hp alarm/keyless in a 2007 honda civic lx 4 door today...after finishing up the car, about to pull it out..the car will not turn over..it cranks up but does not start at all...it also gave symptoms as if i had taken a terminal off the battery (check engine light on and factory radio was in code mode)...i went through and checked all the wiring...nothing looked damage...manager helped me go through everything again...we checked every fuse, wire, relay numerous times and found nothing blown or bad wiring...we even unplugged the harness from the alarm and disconnected the starter kill and put it back to the stock starter wire..it still didnt start...we then try calling other shops and they just said the same thing to check wires, fuses, etc...one of our installers has a reader that plugs into the OBD sensor to read the check engine code but it wasnt reading it because i guess it wasnt updated since its a brand new car...we also notice that the fuel pump isnt turning on and that could be the reason the car is not turning over...my boss got underneath the rear of the car and had me turn the key to ignition and he said he didnt hear it make the "buzz" sound as if it were turning on...we found the fuel pump relay and he pulled it out and checked it..he said it was good but wasn't 100% sure...we also noticed that the fuel pump relay was a light blue color but the rest of the relays next to it and under the hood were black in color which made us think maybe it had been changed...keep in mind this a brand new car 2007 with only 153 miles...hard to believe, but still is possible something could go wrong

has anyone ever ran into this problem? if so what was the cause of it? were you able to fix it? what was done to fix it?

the car is being towed to a dealer on monday so we have to wait and see what happens...we really don't think it was anything i caused since i never unplugged anything or disconnected the battery

look at the immobilizer anti-theft icon on the cluster, when turn key to ON, the icon should light up and then go away.

If the icon still stay on and flash, there is an error w/ the key code.

That unit has nothing to do w/ the immobilizer but thats the diagnostic for the fuel problem and not turning over.

Try the other key that the customer has. as profuse007 says, it sounds to me like the immobilizer kicked in for some reason.

no it doesnt show the key indicator on...

The only thing I can recommend is to look for the fuel pump fuse. It happened to me once. At the immobilizer harness by mistake I left a few wires exposed and it shorted out that fuse. It would give me that same problem. I went to that fuse and saw the blown fuse. Go to that specific fuse and see if its blown. as soon as i put in a new one it turned on

Oh God....the dealership. They HATE guys like us messing around with their precious automobiles. Hang on to you wallet.....and I mean TIGHT. What ever is the problem, you want to see it, bad parts, you want to keep em. You see where I'm goin with this. my manager said they still havent got it to start but that was like 3 days ago...they also think a wired got pulled from the BCM...which is odd seeing as bcm is on the passenger side and i was only working on the driver side

can you restate your quote more precisely?

If what i am thkning is correct, your ignition line blew out. check ign harness connector at steering column to see if it is in all the way.

If that do not help, the physical ignition and/or fuel delivery is not working properly, then tow it to the dealership for diagnostic scan. The scan may cost 100-200 bucks but it may save you a lot of time.
