I've been reading some of the articles and I see that there's many types of boxes for just plain MDF wood boxes.. And fibreglass boxes seem to be all the same. which looks like a sealed box.
If i wanna be heard outside the car, will a fibreglass box do the job? because at the moment i have a ported box and it is loud.and i tried covering my ports up.and it sounded really..umm not loud.hhaha thnx

either type of box can be built sealed or ported.  if you want just loud, go ported.  sealed will give you better sound quality and usually a deeper bass.  if i build a box of mdf, i will usually put several layers of fiberglass on the inside to strengthen the box.   you need to follow mfgrs. recommendations for sealed/ported enclosure and port sizes, or draw one up using a program.  the enclosure sizes are sometimes significantly different between sealed and ported for the same speaker.  just covering the port is not necessarily what it will sound like in the correct sealed box.  If you post what type/ size of speakers you have, i bet someone here can give you a recommendation.

if you wanna be heard outside the car than build a box that will fire the subs out of the windows and roll the windows down with your system on...

...or why not just cut holes in your rear quarters and mount subs in em'?
Just kidding, but you can fiberglass any type of enclosure. I've done a few ported fiberglass enclosures myself - a word of advise, instead of trying to make the the enclosure, then cut a hole for, and mount a port (like my dumb ass did the first time), make a ring (just like a speaker ring) that your port can slide into. Mount it as you would a speaker ring, then just slide your port in once your done.

Assuming all is done correctly and of a decent quality - A ported box will usually be louder and smoother, while a sealed box will be punchier/ more responsive, hit lower notes, and be more precise. If you know what you're doing, you could possibly use a combination of sealed and ported enclosures with 2 or 3 subs.

a ported box can sound better than a sealed box, hit lower, and be more precise of designed and built correctly
