do i use a relay to power up sat radio

if i needed to power up a sat radio and the volts are say  6 how do i wire up the relay to give me 12 volts...my friends call me butcher i fear no wires that dont belong.......................

To do it in a real DIY way, you would need a voltage regulator (can be purchased at Radio Shack). However, PAC makes an aftermarket module for this already if you would like to use it instead. what kind of sat radio are you putting in? most of the new ones we sell run off 6 volts and giving them more than that usually makes them shut down. if it is a 6 volt turn on you will need to use the plug that comes with the unit cuz it usually has a regulator built into it.git yer swerve on!
