I am not an audio fanatic, so i dont know a whole lot about hooking up systems in cars. I need some advice on how to hook up two of these http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-12-CompVR-Subwoofer-CVR12/sem/rpsm/oid/172620/catOid/-13093/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
and this

would i better off getting a 2k mono amp, then the 2400 2 channel amp? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well first off, those subs aren't going to take 1000 watts a piece, rated at 800 peak, so realistically, cut that at least in half for an actual power handling rating. Second, forget that legacy amp, it's going to do nothing but disappoint you.

I would say find you a decent mono amp that will put out around 800 rms @ 2 ohms for those subs and wire it as shown above.

or a kicker ZX750.1 would work just fine? the kicker amp says 750 RMS at 2 ohms x 1

Forget audiobahn too.  Kicker is your best choice so far.

ok thanks for all the help guys. i got the kicker zx750. one last thing. for everyones sake i will use abbreviatons. C2N-(coil 2 negative) C1P-(coil 1 positive) so on and so forth. in my kicker sub manual it says the parallel wiring to produce 1 ohm load is C2N-C1N-Amp C2P-C1P-Amp, this looks different in the picture tdsteele put, his looks like C1N-C2P and C1P-Amp and C2N-Amp. im not sure which way it should be, is steele or my manual incorrect?

He has his setup wired to give a 2 ohm load.  If you wired it like you described you'd end up with a .5 ohm load which that amp isn't going to handle.  Running at 2 ohms will be your best option for that equipment.  Make sure you put them in a solid enclosure that's of proper design for them and you should be happy with it.

i see what steele had. he had a series/parallel wiring. whats the difference between series/parellel and just parallel if they put out the same ohm load.

Where did you get that they give the same load?  I said in my previous post everything in parallel gives you .5 ohms which is too low for that amp.  Wire in series/parallel and you'll get  the desired 2 ohm load.
