i want to learn about leds

I love LED accessories and think they are very interesting. I'm looking at learning how to solder and how to connect LEDs on boards, figure the proper size of the needed resistor, etc.

Can anyone guide me as to where to look to learn this information? I'd really like to be able to make custom LED lighting for cars and home (mostly cars though) but am at a loss as to where to turn.

Any books, websites, etc. that will help will be appreciated. I have no experience in this area other than wiring in premade LED items into my car.

Head down to Radio Shack.. hopefully they still carry the 'getting started in electronics' books. It's a good place to start.. also, Google is your friend.
