Hey did you ever get your power and ground wires upgraded on that amp?

no, i'd have to send it somewhere and basically pay more than the amp is worth. I DID however resolder the broken connections and buy a new capacitor for some random piece of the board that broke off. When I got that done I felt pretty proud :P. Anyway my amp is hot, but seems to be working well. I've yet to do a long term test, as soon as I get this ground issue sorted out. Bass kicks nicely when run directly out of the xover into an ipod.
*I bought the Sony at Circuit city only a few months ago. It has a warranty. I can probably try those muting plugs or whatever they're called in a few days and I'll let you know what happens. Some other things I want to try is to test the resistance of the frame bolt I have the amp and xover grounded to.

the constant noise is present whenever power is running through the remote at the head unit rcas are touching the crossover. Doesn't matter if the volume is 0 or up. Just adding that

Did you try grounding the shields of the RCA cables yet?

Ok so I took the ground from my trunk ground block and took 10 ga wire. I held it on the outside of the RCA, not the actual prong, I assumed this was the shield metal. I still got the same low noise. Then I accidentally touched the ground the to Xovers imputs for the rcas and got a higher bass note and a spark in my xover so i stopped doing that... heh nothing was damaged. So what's this mean? I CAN play music direct into my xover so I'm praying nothing would be wrong with my xover or amp. The head unit still has a warranty and new rcas aren't too expensive. What do you think? Relocate radio ground to battery or trunk and get new radio positive?

Also my remote wire is the blue wire part of the 5 din plug, which I assume is correct. The only thing I don't know is next to the large red and black power wires is a small gauge black wire. I did research and I can't find what that's for?
