I have a 2002 ford E250 that had power locks installed about 2 years ago. When I shut off the van my locks don't unlock and you can't even get it to unlock pushing the remote. It will lock each time I start truck or push lock on remote. Once in a blue moon it works correctly but not often .This just started about 3 weeks ago and it's driving me crazy. Any suggestions? I am somewhat handy and might be able to fix it if I knew what to look for. Thanks

You installed actuators? Have a look at the relays. Check the trigger output. Does the actuator make any noise when it does NOT work? Is i straining at all?

Pull the door panal and have a look. Also, look at the wires going into the door at the boot.

If they are actuators maybe the connection is just lose inside open it up and tighten the screws connecting to your lock bar, you'll know what im talking about when you take it apart.

I didn't do installation. Is there a main box that controlls the signal to lock and unlock when you turn ignition on and off.? It's not individual locks not working, they either all work or all fail. This weekend they were operating most of the time but didn't occasionally. It's frustrating when it's so sporatic. Iv'e traced the wires to individual locks but there must be a centralized box that sends out the signal thats malfunctioning. Any other ideas? Thanks John

If your saying sometimes they work and in one direction they work open the door panel and look if the connection between the electric lock and the lock bar in your truck is lose before i check any wires. Its probably like lose screws. power locks, 2002 ford e250 -- posted image.

I'm thinking this main control box you are looking for is the brain of the keyless, or the relays that control the actuators. Look under the dash Givin what you have said about the actions or lack there of, of ALL the locks at once, there can't be a loose screw on a rod, or individual actuator.

Wire problem, NOT actuator screw loose.
