I just ordered Four 12" Alpine Type-R 4ohm DVC subs, I was wondering would any of you suggest running these subwoofers @ 1 ohm on a Hifonics BXi 2006D amp. It pushes out 2000 watts rms @ 1 ohm. If so I will go ahead and buy the amp but if not I may look into getting a different amp. any advice would help, thanks.

I would look into upgrading your charging system first......

you can run 2 subs each at 4 ohm and 1 ohm, and all four at 2 ohm and 8 ohm

Cap wont help if you have a charging issue, just make it worse.

I would start by upgrading BIG THREE. There is a DIY at the top of this forum.

Second if that doesnt help you then a High Output Alt.

What type of vehicle do you have?

I have a 1999 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. I just got a brand new battery, it usually puts out around 13.4v

The battery comes into play when the car is off or being started. its a start but to run the amperage you will be drawinf you will need to upgrade the big 3 and get a h.o. alt. otherwise stock up on factory alternators and batteries because you will eat them,.

well how much do h.o. alternators cost? and is it possible to just upgrade my wires without having to buy another alternator?

These are your options. That amp is class d mono. It has only one channel. Here are your options if you get that amp. You will not be able to run all four of those at 1 ohm. at the least 2.  If the speakers were 2 ohm DVC then one ohm would be possible.
