I'm not a 1 ohm believer. I think the amp runs too hot and lacks control. I would get the dual 4 ohm coils and run at 2 ohms. The differance in SPL would be small and the amp would run cooler and cleaner.
for running at 2 ohms i was looking at two of these amps , http://sonicelectrnix.com/item_6517_Hifonics+ZXi+1006.html . 2 channel 100 watt hifonics ZXi 1006. runs 500x2 @ 2 ohms, and 1000x1 @ 4 ohms bridged. I honestly want to run all my subs hooked up all together on 1 amp at 2 ohms but cant find a amp that runs 2000 watts rms @ 2 ohms. would you suggest any other amp besides the two hifonics?

a memphis 1500d will run at 2 ohms
# RMS Power Ratings:
* 750 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms
    * 1500 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms

To get a 2ohm final load using 4 dual voice coil subs on a 1ohm stable mono amp, you need 4 dual 2ohm voice coil subs.

If you do order the 4 dual 4ohm vc subs, I suggest getting either a mono amp that puts out about 1000wrms @ 2ohms OR a bridgable 2channel amp that puts out about 1000wrms x 1 @ 4ohms.

You need 4 dual 2ohm models to load that HiFonics to 1ohm -for max power.

I think I got my setup right now, I bought two 2 channel amps that run 570 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms. My cousing is running the same setup with Four of the 4 ohm alpine type-r's, and its running real good, barely gets hot.
