as an installer i like equipment that is desinged to be installed by a tech and lack silly gimics.     alpine, eclipse, most dei alarms and compustart come to mind.    solid support is just as important as the equipment in my opinion.

My favorite brand is ARC Audio!  It used to be JL Audio, but now I am 100% ARC Audio fan.  I just got a system installed by an Indianapolis shop called SoundSational Audio & Video.  They installed a complete ARC Audio system using the ARC12D4 subwoofers, ARC 300.2 amplifier on subs and a KS300.4 on my interior speakers.  This is by far the best sounding system I have had to date!! Whats amazing, is that I didn't buy the more expensive line of ARC that Soundsational sold.  If this stuff sounds this good, I can't imagine what the signature series of amps would sound like.

I voted Alpine because I love their head units. I have boston acoustics highs, and a Diamond Sub. All great stuff.
