Becareful when printing out pages with the new Directechs. I've heard a few vehicles print up to 14 pages !! What a waste of paper IMO.

Directechs has fixed the printing issues, they now have a 'quick print' option that prints just the information you want instead of the whole vehicle. They have also put the notes back into the printouts.
It seems that DEI must have been on to something when they claimed there was an excessive number of "unauthorized" users accessing their site. It appears they knocked out the people they no longer wanted to retain access to their site. From how I understand what they have implemented if you work for an independent shop the person who manages the directeddealers.com account has to enter your email address into their approved database. Once you are entered you can login and create your own personal password and use directechs. They will be monitoring the accounts and if they determine your individual account is being used in excess then they will shut you out but it does not lock you to a specific IP address allowing installers on the road access to the site. If you work for a big box store you can only access directechs if you access it from inside the store (using the store's IP address).
The12volt has a large amount of vehicle information and if that is not enough go to Audiovox's site and register for an account. You do not need to be a dealer and Audiovox's information is on par with DEI's, they have tech notes, diagrams, etc.

I am not a very big fan of DEI, but in no way is the Audiovox info even close to as good. Most of the audiovox info is outdated or just plain wrong in a lot of cases.

What is your site of choice? I usually look at Dei and compare it with our in-home site. I heard that bulldog security has a site also.

bulldog is a bootlegged of DEI's directechs. Can't really complain about free information.
Audiovox is great, very updated w/ quite a few 08 makes/models.

DEI of Canada (Astroflex) is telling the astro dealers that they will also have access to directechs. On the latest update on the astrochart the bypass modules that DEI uses, come up on the tech sheet, also with a direct link to the tech sight for the bypass install instructions.

The first thing I really like about DEI.I Need the New Directechs Password - Page 2 -- posted image.

Actually, the more tech avail. the better. I used Audiovox & omega's "the disc", in addition to DT. As not always is DT the easiest spot to get a wire. Options make for quicker installs & more $$.

It is funny though, on most vehicles IGN, & ACC wires are reversed with DT & Audiovox....not that it makes much diff most the time, just interesting....LOL kind of like my wife.

I like the relay diagrams on The Disc, be nice if DT had em (like for adding 3rd IGN, or 2nd ACC, 5WI DL, + to -, low amperage to high)...cause it isn't always needed, but keeps the newer installer from asking "is this right" 5 million times....or when your hung over & can't think....or just when you can't think...or LOL

used to be loud, used to be fast...now I am married LOL

Do you have specific vehicles that you can show to prove this? I was not trying to say that Audiovox's site is perfect but their information is free, and all circuits need to be verified no matter where you get your information. I use directechs for 99.9% of my information but I have not seen Audiovox's information be that far off to say they are "outdated or just plain wrong in a lot of cases". If this is the truth I will stop recommending them!
