I've been using Omega bypass modules. The owner bought a lot of Autopage stuff recently. While I like the Autopage alarms and remote starts, some of their bypass stuff is a little out of date.

I am more curious than anything else, this would be the first vehicle like this that I would do (if I choose to do it). I know that most GM's are also the same way.

I'm gonna look into Fortin Electronic Systems tomorrow and see whats up. I need something thats a lot more up to date. I won't be doing this much longer ( I will graduate and have my Bachelors in Mathematics this May) but a couple of the guys I work with will be doing this for a few more years.

But I need to make my life easy for atleast another 8 - 10 months

Use the PATS-CHRYSLER04+ bypass module for this truck for the resistor start and the Sentry bypass. IMO, using the resistors for the door locks are the way to go instead of using the datawire, I haven't had ANY luck with any modules as far as Dodge/Chrysler goes for doorlock/security bypass.
If it's an Omega system chances are your going to have to use a PASS4 key required bypass module. Not sure if the IBU-CH2X will work on the new keys or not.

So tell us what problems have you encountered using a data wire system for the locks. I have been using the chdl7pk2 without issues. However that was on 06's only. Have an 07 for Tuesday afternoon. Sell me on why I should use the PATS4 and resistor the locks. I have heard from a couple other local installers that they have had problems with the locks on Dodge's but I'm not sure what bypass they were using.

the only issue i've had was on one dodge ram using an ads-al-ca I could only get the drivers door to unlock. It wasn't a huge deal as the customer didn't care about locks.

This goes back a few years ( up until last year for the last episode ). I used bypasskit.com door lock and sentry bypass all-in-one modules on a few Dodge vehicles that used the data wire for the door locks and what would happen is the doors would lock randomly while the customer were driving. This happened on a 2003 Dodge Neon, 2001 Dodge Caravan & most recent ( beginning of last year ) a 2002 Chrysler Sebring Sedan.
The first 2 vehicles that I did I ended up replacing the bypass modules with just normal Sentry bypasses and used resistors to fix the door lock problem, but the Chrysler ended up having some problems at the BCM where even after I unplugged and removed the module, the doors were still locking while driving. This is why I do not use the door lock and Sentry bypass modules anymore. The resistors are much more reliable IMO and are fairly easy to install with the Compustar units because the ground output on the door lock wires are high current enough to trigger the Dodge door lock circuits without having to use relays. I have polarity inverters for the (+) Chrysler's systems so I just have 4 wires to hook up and no once again no need for bulky relays.
The PATS-CHRYSLER-04+ takes care of the resistance based (-) trigger starter and is very easy to install. The wires for the door locks on the truck is super easy to access as well so installing the door locks takes about 10 minutes MAX.

xk532 is a much better bypass than the chdl7-pk2.. they do the same things but the 532 actually unlocks the passenger doors when the vehicle is running and the chdl7 does not.

these bypasses do not work on all new dodge/chrysler/jeep, just be wary to the fact that you may still have to build the relays for the ignition.

Had an 07 Ram in the shop yesterday, last night and it's still there. Using an XK532 bypass. The unit powers up igntion wise but no crank. I have the 1k reisistor between the start line and ground. What am I missing? Could it be the factory security disarm with either the 1.5 or 8.5k? I'm at a loss!  If I can nail this truck, there will be a tonne more for me to do, not sure if I want them though. Gotta get this out of the shop first. Need some help. Thanks

You shouldn't need to use resistors on the 2nd START wire. The XK532 already has this built into the module. The OEM security doesn't stop the vehicle from starting, it only sounds the horn and flashes the park lights when triggered. Just wire up the VIOLET/WHITE wire directly to the MUX ( VIOLET/BROWN wire ). Also, make sure that the PINK wire on the XK532 goes to the starter wire on the remote starter system.

I've had enough. Pulled the starter from the truck. Backed it out of the shop and sent it on it's way. Of course, it will be back later in the week. The guy needed his truck. So what did I do wrong????? For the life of me, I can't figurre this out. I've tried everything (I think). The truck went to accessory - ignition mode but never cranked . Could it be the bypass kit? I might try a chdl7pk2 next time. I tried with the 1k resistor between pink and ground and tried without. I've tried isolating the mux wire. I tried isolating the pink-blue starter wires. This really sucks!!!!!!!

My info says that it sould be 180-ohm to ground to make it crank. Now best I can tell the CAN SL2 doesnt have start capability.  I havent done an 07 Dodge yet. To much info that I can not varify.

Between school and work I don't have time to get back here in a timely manner. For now I'm gonna avoid those Dodges.
