There are remote starters designed for manual transmission vehicles.
I would suggest you buy one, doing what you propose is very dangerous and could kill someone under the correct circumstances.

What you have stated has been said by everyone who wants to install these systems into their cars.  Get a Directed 689m module for the remote start system to work the way it is intended to be.

What kind of car is it?  Some cars have NSS switches from the factory.

place a relay on the output of the clutch wire itself, if its ground then apply ground and vice versa. Connect the trigger of the relay to a wire that will pulse at start up so that the car thinks u just pressed the clutch. If thats to much just find out what it is on the output and apply it permanently (not the right way to do it but it will work). if your going to do it put a house alarm window sensor on the shifter ( really small and cheap at raio shack) and tie it in with the hood trigger so when u are not in neutral the car will think the hood is open and will not start.
u ever flew on the ground?

I heard Monday that an employee that works at one of our other stores had ran his car into a tree.  Of course I asked if he was OK, they answered, well of course he is OK he was inside his house getting dressed.  1998 5 series.  He had to get a ride to work. It ain't pretty any more.  And he too is the only one that drives the car and he ALWAYS leaves it in neutral.

Heres a thought......get a remote start designed for a manual trans. No guess, no worry, no problems. And foolproof.

Either ground the neutral safety switch or using the toggle switch that came with the 871. Connect n.s.s.wire to the top(on)BLACK/ white wire on the toggle and other side to ground. This way you can turn it on or off. Better safe than sorry. Think about if you ever take your car to get serviced or an oil change. You don't want some idiot to remote start your car in gear.

What is the best remote start for a manual trans?  What exactly does it do that you could not do with relays and a regular remote start system?  I have a manual trans on one of my cars and am considering getting one it's safe.  Anyone have a good one or install one that works?
