Hi guys iam just in the process of fitting a ultrastart 1270 into my cougar one problem i have at the moment is the connection for the arm and dis arm it says the wire colours are BLACK/ green BLACK/ orange, but there are four of these in the alarm harness so i connected into what i thought was the right one but now i have noticed that my alarm light on the dash has gone out and i have no alarm or deadlocking allthough it locks and unlocks on the ford key ok.

Did you test the wires before connecting them and doing possible permanent damage? Doesn't sound like it. You cannot make your connections based on what a diagram says is the color of the wire.

Another thing. Always post the year of your vehicle.....takes the guess work out!
