Alright, first I want to know if local shops have SQ comps when they have SPL comps.

And, what are the 'rules'?

generaly no.   I have helped put on quite a few non-sanctioned shows. I would say maybe 1 of 20 had SQ and it was so off biased (hence thier cars won)   it wasnt worth having.
It is very very hard to have an SQ judge that is very unbiased to equipment and such, espicially when you have an unsanctioned show and the judges are typical shop employee's or not getting paid for the show.
Just come to a sanctioned show, you will learn so much even if you dont win!
Give me the area your in and I will list some shows for you that will have SQ

I live in SC, near Columbia (sadly). That sucks. I was hoping that they would have more of them. I know I could win something (when I get everything installed, that is). At least that's what everyone tells me around here. But hey, I live in SC so what would they know (can you tell I don't like it here?unofficial sq competitions -- posted image.).

Thanks for the info. I will look into it, but I doubt my install is close to how is should be (wiring secured every 6inches and stuff), that's why I was hoping there would be more 'unofficial' SQ comps. I guess I should call the local shops and ask them. Thanks, Jeff.

LOL!!!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I figured I might get it right if I used multiple spellings...Anyway...

It is a mobile electronics forum...The spelling nerd forum is around the corner.
