2001 s10 remote start

im am putting a remote start in my 2001 S10 and everything is hooked up the alarm for the Python 990 works fine but when i remote start it from the key pay the car will get power to everything it just will not crank or turn over, i tested the starter wire with a meter and it reads when started with a key but not with the remote start button. Does anyone know what could be wrong?Steve Gardner

did you install a bypass??? like 555L or similar???

I installed the 555LW yes still when i activate the remote start from the keypad the car has all of the power on liek it is running like it would be on the ON position with the key, just no crank or turn of it?Steve Gardner

so basically what you are saying is that there is no OUTPUT on the purple starter wire when remote started, although there is 12v on the wire during crank with the key, correct? Try using a test light and pulsing the purple wire in the ribbon harness. this will activate the +12v output from the purple wire. make sure BOTH red wires and the RED / WHITE wire are connected and the fuses are good as well

when you pulse the small purple wire in the ribbon harness to ground, the heavy guage purple starter wire will read +12v

thanks i believe that could be the problem i know i have the blue status output hooked up but i dont think that i have the purple (-)200mA starter output connected, so when connecting that wire where do i connect it to?Steve Gardner
