This is a lot more details than most DYI installer can provide me let alone a customer who has a basic understanding of it. :)
Chris Luongo has hit every point that a poor installer would missed. As Chris said and I agree, it's very straight forward install on this vehicle.
Two things that was not mention, but you can do yourself.
Look at the grounding wire from the remote start unit. Check and see if that is grounded well. (no rust built up on the surface...etc. if you can, do the the voltage reading on it when it fails to respond.)       
Have you check the voltage reading when it has been sitting for a long period? Check that and make your posting.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.problems with remote car starter failures - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.
