I do a quite a lot of RAV4s, and when I get around to it, I'm going to write up a detailed article with the shortcuts I've found. Meanwhile, the highlights:They don't make a hatchback RAV4 anymore, do they? As long as you have a swing-out tailgate, it unlocks when you unlock all the other doors; there is no "trunk release" wire to hook up at all.All of the wires coming from the steering column, including the parking lights, go off to the left, and then run along the top of the fuse box. You can tie into them at whatever point is most convenient for you.It is probably easier to get the GREEN / WHITE brake wire in the driver's kick panel, rather than trying to reach up to the brake switch itself. The unlock wire is not "double pulse." Rather, one pulse will unlock the driver's door, and a second pulse (if applied within two seconds) will unlock all the other doors, including the tailgate. If you alarm has two-stage unlocking, tie both wires directly into the blue / YELLOW. Also, it should be mentioned that the blue/orange and blue / YELLOW wires are operated by turning the key in the driver's door, not by operating the Lock/Unlock switch. When you use your test light or meter to verify the wires, reach out the window and turn the key in the door to test them. For the door trigger on your alarm, there is a one-wire solution. No need to go chasing all over the car and getting separate wires and diode-isolating them. Pop out the driver's door sill. Pull up the carpeting a little. You'll see a channel running under the driver's seat with wires in it. Some of the wires are coming from the front of the car, some from the rear. There's a thin red wire in there, coming from the rear of the car. It's negative trigger, and it catches all doors, including the tailgate. (If none of what I'm saying makes sense, it will once you get the car apart and see what I'm talking about.)Jeff
