Speaker Rings?

When you make speaker rings do you have them out of 3/4 MDF and then use a piece of 1/2 MDF on top of that only bigger to make the speaker flush?? Or how do you guys usually do it?

That sounds about right. You would just make two rings the same size external diamater then cut the mounting ring to the mounting diameter of the sub and the flush ring to the external diameter of the woofer. If you were going to use a grill you would just make the flush ring out of 3/4 mdf.

to cut those rings out , use a router and a circle jig.
you can use a jigsaw and a compass but most of the time it will come out wavey and need to be sanded.....installguy509
