hey everyone,
this has been troubling me..
i have two 12" sony xplod subs, (the very first ones) and they're minimum volume box for each is 1.0 cu3, so i built a 2.0cu3 sealed box, they sound fine, but i am selling them and maybe the box too. now i am getting 2 12" MA audio subs (the xe series) and wanting to make another box but this time ported, BUT, each sub is required a minimum of 2.0 cu3 which is big, considering the size of my trunk, and it'll weigh down my back end too, i don't want to make a huge ass box that seals off the two subs and make each chamber 2.0 cu3, that is too much...how can i make a box that will sound good, and that is small..and if you can give me the cu3 for it...

Why not just go sealed again so you can have the small box you want?? If the manufacturer calls for 2.0 on a ported then i wouldn't go smaller.

yes but if i am gonna be making a ported box, then 2.0 cu3 is not gonna be suffice, or would it? if i make a box i want the subs to work well, sound good and not damage in the long run...lack of air space will damage the speaker..

You could look into an isobaric setup http://www.maximacar.com/isobaric.htm
