I am installing an aftermarket head unit in a 1999 Toyota Camry with the six speaker set up. Is there a special wire harness to bypass the amp to install the Pioneer.  Or do I just use what is listed on the Metra site, looks like the standard Toyota plug???

most amplified toyotas have an amp bypass right inside the radio opening. if you look inside the radio opening toward the passenger side you will see 2 white wire harnesses plugged into their mating connector. unplug them and then you will have the regular Toyota harness Metra part # 70-1761.

On this 99 camry.. I did not find the two plugs in the radio opening. So should I use the harness with only two plugs from Metra instead of the four plugs.. and also would the turn on lead have to be hooked up. I tried the two plug harness.. still with no sound...Any ideas??? Thanks

Did you try to power the turn on lead?
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Do that and you'll be good to go.  There should be blue jumper in the Metra harness.

Thanks for all the help. Wired the turn on lead..still nothing.. found rear speaker in the trunk to have a broken terminal the owner tried to fix with super glue...soldered it back in place and was good to go...thanks again
