I am in the process to get an amp but i was offered a 5 ch amp,  I have been doing research but i dont see too many things about 5 ch amps and if they work.

The equilizer i got is:

Kenwood KGC-6042A

and the head unit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X890

This will be installed in a Opel Astra G, 2004

I am planning to install 2 set of :

Boston Acoustics SX50

5-1/4" component speaker system

Sensitivity 90 dB

Frequency Response 58 - 20k Hz
RMS Power Range (Watts) 2-65
Peak Power Handling (Watts) 200
Impedance (Ohms) 4
Top-mount Depth (Inches) 2 1/8
Bottom-mount Depth (Inches) N/A
Cutout Diameter or Length (inches) 4 9/16

and a sub

Sony XS-L123P5

12" 4-ohm subwoofer

Impedance 4 ohms

Sensitivity 89dB
Frequency Response 18 - 2k Hz
RMS Power Range (Watts) 90-380
Peak Power Handling (Watts) 1300
Vas (liters) 86.7
Fs (Hz) 24.8
Qts 0.37
Xmax (millimeters) 5.7

What would be your recommendation in the type of amp or amps I should get?

Judging by the power requirements a 5 channel would be suitable. Consider that some 5 channels are quite large though.  The 2 I would recomend (do to personal experience) are the concept cca -664 or one made by memphis i forgot the model number. Both worked well.  the concept gives 60x4 and 200x1. roughly 11"x17". its at this link.

I agree with Jeremy. For your application, a 5 channel amp would work great. The Concept amp is a great little amplifier, if you can find a Eclipse PA5532, it would be a good step up from the Concept.

i concur that a 5 channel amp would be the most efficient solution... i have used a few Directed D2205's lately in this situation with success....

my only fear ( bad memories of Soundstream 5 channels grenading on me) is that if you overdrive and blow the sub output stage you lose the whole system....  whereas with a dedicated sub amp and satellite amp you dont have the same potential problem.....
