I have a mid-90s chrylser factory stereo that was removed from the vehicle to install after aftermarket upgrade.  I want to use it as my shop radio but i can't get it working.  I have the speakers hooked up correctly, ground hookedup, and plus 12 to the power pin and the ignition pin.  I can get scratching noises in the speakers when turn the balance and fade controls etc and on applying the 12 volts to the ignition pin but the display will not fire up and cannot tune anything etc.  Is there a secret procedure or a security code on these things i need to apply or some other ideas to get me going thanks
