I just had a viper 5500 installed in my 2000 Expedition. The installer told me that I could only add a second remote that is a basic 4 button remote. I would like to add another 2-way remote like the one that came with the system. Has anyone done this to know if it is possible? The replacement remotes are available for a resonable price online, but they are all advertised as repalcements, not add-ons. Also, I need to know where to find the instructions to add another transmitter. Can anybody help me?

downloads sectionshould have it. as for transmitters, vipers are capable to taking up to 4 remotes. add two 2-way remotes might cause them to conflict with one another.

I looked in the download section, and didn't see anything for the 5500. Which manual should I follow for the programming. Also, the ones that I looked at showed how to go through the button learning routines. Do I need to do that for each button, or is there a way to learn the entire remote without configuring each button?

Programming is easy. Open a door, turn ignition on, press the valet twice holding it down on the 2nd press, you'll hear a confirmation beep from the siren, press the lock button on the remote, you'll hear another beep from the siren and your all set.
