Do you have to connect the yellow starter wire on this vehicle, from the starter output from the remote starter?

That vehicle has two starter wire and both have to be connect for it to start.
the starter wire from the R/S will have to go to the Yellow + starter of the van.
The second starter wire is PURPLE / brown and will need to be grounded with a 180 ohm resister at time of starting . Note that some bypass kit will do that for you.
most of them bypass will have you hook a wire to the starter wire of the R/S but from my under standing you will still have to hook up the yellow starter wire

Yellow: definitely.
PURPLE / brown: 2004-up Chrysler vans will start just fine even if you don't hook it up, but it's not a bad idea to connect it anyway.
